About On My Way - Hideki Seo:
projects+gallery opened its doors in the Central West End on April 10th, 2015 with a solo retrospective featuring internationally-recognized artist Hideki Seo. Entitled On My Way - Hideki Seo, the gallery’s first exhibition included large-scale sculptural works from the Paris-based artist, in addition to key pieces from his career. According to Seo, “Through these works, I am considering the boundaries of art. My concept is focused on life and death, and how differences between cultures and languages inform art.” Seo returned to Saint Louis after participating in the 2013 exhibition A Queen Within: Adorned Archetypes, Fashion and Chess at the World Chess Hall of Fame. Working primarily in textiles, On My Way is the artist’s first solo show in the United States and will explore how fashion design intersects with cultural and artistic experiences.
