SPF 1991 Presents: Mural

Join us the evening of September 5th to celebrate the completion of our summer-long mural project by Edo Rosenblith, Janie Bootsie Stamm, Yowshien Kuo, and WORK/PLAY! Complimentary refreshments will be provided and this event is free and open to the public.

Edo Rosenblith was born in Tel Aviv, Israel but has spent most of his life in the United States. Rosenblith received his BFA in painting in 2011 at the Rhode Island School of Design and his
MFA in Visual Art at Washington University-St. Louis in 2017. Edo is a compulsive draftsman who works in a verity of mediums: murals, painting, drawing, printmaking, and book arts.
Throughout these methods of image making, Edo implements a cartoon vernacular as a way to reexamine both personal and historical narratives of trauma.

Janie Stamm is a craft based artist residing on the western banks of the Mississippi River in Saint Louis. Her work serves to document and preserve Florida's cultural and environmental history in the face of climate change. She was most recently the recipient of a Regional Arts Commission grant, a Dubinsky Scholarship to study at the Fine Arts Work Center, and the Frida Kahlo Creative Arts Award from Washington University in St. Louis. Her work was featured on the cover of the December 2016 issue of Poetry magazine. She has shown work throughout the country including St. Louis, Los Angeles, Atlanta and Chicago.

Yowshien Kuo was educated in both the U.S. and Taiwan and completed his MFA in 2014. Kuo is an active exhibiting artist living and working in St. Louis, Missouri. As of 2019, Yowshien became a co-owner of the artist run space, Monaco in St. Louis, exhibited at LVL3 in Chicago, Art + Landscape in Granite City, IL and Counterpublic with The Luminary in St. Louis. He currently holds teaching appointments at St. Louis Community College at Meramec, Washington University’s – University College, and Fontbonne University in St. Louis.

WORK/PLAY is an interdisciplinary design duo based in St. Louis, MO. Kevin received a BFA in Graphic Communication from the University of Missouri St. Louis and currently enrolled at Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Arts, Washington University in St. Louis earning his MFA. Danielle is a conceptual artist, writer, and educator. Together, they combine illustration, minimal contemporary design along with experimental printmaking techniques into their art practice. With their use of design and printmaking, the collaborative duo has expanded their practice to textile arts, site-specific installation, publications and bookmaking to deliver an acerbic dose of revelation to inspire audiences and trigger experiences. They continuously experiment with new techniques, seeking to push beyond the perceived boundaries of art, design and printmaking.
